World-famous actor, director and producer Kevin Spacey visited Regent’s University London last week to deliver a performance masterclass with 18 students as part of the Kevin Spacey Foundation’s (KSF) mission to offer KSF Scholarships for talented applicants of performing arts and film undergraduate programs.
Participating students were thrilled at the opportunity of working with Kevin Spacey in the University’s Marylebone Theatre and were full of enthusiasm following the event:
“It was so interesting to see my piece not only performed, but to have the depth of it change with Kevin Spacey’s direction. This workshop has definitely made me rethink how to write for actors, and I’m so happy to have been a part of it!” – Amanda Christensen – Writer
“This was an interesting and inspiring experience. It was great to get feedback and work on a piece that we’d collaborated with screenwriting students for, as well as hear all about Kevin Spacey’s experience within the industry, not just as a performer but also an industry creative.” – Bliss Winder – Actor
“I had an amazing time. It was fascinating to see how Kevin Spacey works and I’m hugely grateful for his valuable insight on the fundamentals of acting. I learnt a lot of life lessons, which I will certainly take away with me.” – Nathan Musoki – Actor
David Hanson, Head of Regent’s School of Drama, Film & Media, summarised the impact and value of the University’s long-standing relationship with KSF,
adding:
“We are delighted to have completed the final session of a three-year Joint Scholarships Program between Regent’s University London and the Kevin Spacey Foundation (KSF) UK.
“During this time the Program has awarded 24 scholarships totalling £720,000 to advance the learning and potential of Regent’s leading students in the fields of screenwriting, producing and acting.”
