Delighted sixth form students at The Latimer Arts College are celebrating success today [Thursday 13 August, 2015] after receiving their A Level results.
Principal, Siobhan Hearne said: “We are extremely proud of our students and the success that they have achieved this year.
“There has been a 10 per cent increase in the number of students gaining three A Levels with us, as well as the highest number of A* grades in the College’s history.
“Students studying vocational qualifications have exceeded their expected grades and we anticipate all of our students have secured their places at university.
Rowan Ramsay (18) achieved an A grade in Business Studies and a double-award of two As in Sports Studies. He said: “I’m very pleased with what I’ve got and hope to go to Derby University to study Sports and Business.”
Rowan’s Mum, Alison, added: “Rowan’s done really well. Latimer have been very supportive and we’re now going to see family and friends – everyone’s so proud of him.”
Other student comments included:
Nicola Hardwick (18) – B in Psychology, B in PE and C in Biology. She said: “I’m really happy. Next I’m going to study Psychology at Nottingham Trent University. I’m going out for a meal with my friends tonight – it’s been such an exciting year.”
Georgia Barratt (18) C in Psychology, C in Business and E in Art & Design: “I feel relieved!” she said. I’m going to be trained as a First Responder with the Ambulance Service and go on to become an Ambulance Technician. It’s something I’ve always wanted to do.”
Melissa Cowern (18) achieved a B in her Dance AS, C in Music, C in Drama and another C in Dance. She said: “I’m heading to the University of Westminster in September to study Commercial Music Performance. Right now I’m going to ring every member of my family and then tonight I’m going out to celebrate.”
