Latimer Arts College in Kettering has run a workshop for Year 11 girls with the support of a specialist organisation which helps women excel in both life and employment.

Amanda Butterworth from Northants-based ‘Dorothy-Rose’ visited the school to deliver a series of activities designed to empower girls and get them thinking about exams, revision and their future goals in life.

Amanda explained:

“Dorothy-Rose was founded as an online coaching service to help girls and women consider their true values and aspirations.

“I was delighted to work with the Latimer Arts College students and help them identify what they’re passionate about and how they can make the best possible choices for their future.”

Year 11 student Francesca Blackwell, said:

“The activities and everything we talked about gave me a much better idea of how to prepare for my exams. Amanda’s speech really inspired me to think about my values – we had such a good time!”

Fellow student India Robinson, said:

“This was such a powerful event. I learnt so much about study techniques and the best ways to revise. I feel really empowered and the revision pack we received is going to be really helpful.”

Jyoti Pankhania, Assistant Principal at the Latimer Arts College, added:

“Taking place in the same month as International Women’s Day [8 March], we were delighted to organise an event recognising the important themes of equality and positive achievements for women everywhere.”
