Northamptonshire Crimestoppers held a special networking event on Wednesday 18 September to mark 25 years of success for the charity in the UK, while also drawing attention to the challenging criminal activity faced by businesses across the county.

The business breakfast welcomed over 100 local professional, community and law enforcement representatives including Adrian Lee, Chief Constable of Northamptonshire Police, and Adam Simmonds, Northamptonshire Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC).

Sylvia Hughes, Chair of Northamptonshire Crimestoppers, said:

“Businesses are very concerned about fraud, the personal safety of their employees and keeping their premises safe. The anonymity provided by Crimestoppers to people who want to report issues connected to crime plays a vital role in supporting the Police.”

Chief Constable Adrian Lee commented:

“Today’s event provided a great opportunity to update the business community on the progress we are making together, to hear their views and their offers of support. We’re very grateful to Crimestoppers for all they’re doing to assist policing and for arranging this breakfast meeting.”

Adam Simmonds PCC added:

“What an amazing event opportunity to hear, share and excite each other – Crimestoppers makes a real difference.”
Event attendee and President of the Wellingborough Chamber of Commerce, James Wilson, concluded:
