09 Nov MumStuff rises from ashes to win WOW Award!
MumStuff Ltd, an online retailer specialising in products for mums-to-be and new mums, has rebounded from the brink of collapse following a fire, to the dizzying heights of success after winning a top online accolade.
MumStuff – products for every mum
Set up in 2005 by mum of two, Dr Nicola Morrow – and based in Towcester, Northamptonshire – MumStuff has been serving the needs of pregnant women for almost eight years with a range of original, unusual and useful products.
Disaster struck on Saturday 29 September when the adjacent business unit was destroyed by fire, but amazingly left MumStuff’s premises standing, despite the need to vacate the offices and write-off stock and equipment due to smoke damage.
Nicola quickly found temporary premises and managed to start building the business back up again. Within one week of the fire, MumStuff was serving customers once again.
“MumStuff is a website dedicated to mums-to-be – featuring products to ease you through pregnancy and labour – brilliant!’
Nicola has persevered with marketing her fabulous range of Christmas gifts for mums-to-be and was rewarded this week by receiving a female entrepreneur accolade from Jacqueline Gold, Chief Executive of Ann Summers and Knickerbox.
Every Wednesday, Ms Gold asks female entrepreneurs to Tweet her about their business. She reviews each one and selects her three favourites. Nicola was delighted that MumStuff was chosen and awarded the #WOW Award (Women on Wednesday).
Ms Gold, commented:
